for Business Owners

There is a new Companies and Other Entities Act of 2017, that is about to be enacted, packed with new changes. In a series of articles, Capital Magazine explores the background of this bill, starting with reviews made public by the Law Development Commission in its partners.

The Women’s Farming Syndicate (WFS), founded in 2011, is an agribusiness community with a diverse membership from professionals to grass roots; a business constituency that has grown to over 5,000 women entrepreneurs across the country with key projects and programmes that include the Annual Women’s Showcase Market, the Weekly SMEs Market, and an eCommerce platform.

The purpose of this Bill is to protect the consumer of goods and services by establishing the Consumer Protection Agency, and regulation of Consumer Advocacy Organisations. It will also repeal the Consumer Contracts Act [Chapter 8:03] and to provide for matters incidental to or connected with issues of consumer protection.
